LOCATION
Life on Fire 2014 will take place Friday Feb. 28 to Sunday Mar. 2 at The Welcome Table Community Center where the A Third Place Community Foundation, www.turleyok.blogspot.com and The Welcome Table Missional Community, www.progressivechurchplanting.blogspot.com, and the national Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship, www.uuchristian.org are located at 5920 N. Owasso Ave., Turley/Tulsa OK 74126, and the gathering (meals and programs) will also be held at the Turley United Methodist Church, 6050 N. Johnstown Ave., both just six blocks from one another. The Welcome Table Community Center is one of the community renewal properties of the A Third Place Community Foundation in the Tulsa McLain High School area of North Tulsa and the
unincorporated community of Turley adjacent to the city limits of Tulsa
and six miles north of downtown along N. Peoria Ave. The Foundation
serves a two mile radius from 46th St. North to 76th St. North and
Highway 75 to the Osage County Line. The service area is a part of the
Cherokee Nation. The Foundation also operates the Welcome Table KitchenGardenPark and Orchard across from the Turley United Methodist Church, 6005 N. Johnstown Ave.
In keeping with the spirit of our
conference, and mindful that we wish this to be as economically
accessible as possible, conference participants should plan to bring
sleeping bags or air mattresses with them, and we’ll bunk in the
church/community center and we are hoping to arrange home hospitality.
Simple healthy meals will be provided.
